Send the Manuscript!

Hello everybody,

Guess What!!!

I finally submitted my manuscript! This may not be as exciting for you as it is for me but…

There were a couple of things I couldn’t do myself. Well, I could have but my brain was ready to implode from the lack of words flowing from my head to my hands as I tried to write the synopsis. I paid kerrybridget to write it and oh my goshness I love it. Okay, I’ll stop gushing now.

The reason I couldn’t write it was simple I was too close to the story. It was like not being able to see the forest because I only saw one tree.

Now that the synopsis has past I sent in my manuscript and boy was it trouble. Seriously, it’s a lot of work and I have no idea what I’m doing. Just that it would be a dream come true for this manuscript to be accepted my a traditional publishing house.

In reality wishful thinking will not get anybody where they need to be. If it were that easy everybody would be dreaming. This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t ever hope for the best but don’t just sit back, get up and work.

If you’re starting to submit your manuscript or just love to have additional resources when it comes to anything writing here’s a sight that helps.

querytracker

All you do is create an account and it will actually give you a list of publishing houses and agents.

Now the reason why this is super cool is that you can even narrow it down and find publishing houses that are open to submissions as well as their genres.

I’m always open to advice and if you could recommend publishing houses or even share your advice, I would love to hear from you.

One other thing, thank you so much for supporting me.

  1. Congratulations!

This is a huge step. It’s exciting, it’s frustrating, you name it, this experience has it.

Do not rest on one submission. Try to send out one per day if possible. Have at least five sent by the end of the week. Are you sending it to agents and publishers who do not require agent representation? It’s good to do both.

I’ve used querytracker too and it’s excellent. I would have been lost without it. I agree having someone else do the synopsis. You are correct, we are way to close to the story. I also had someone do my query. Could not get the hang of it.

Keep us posted on this. Happy for you.

    1. Thank you so much 😊 so far I’ve only sent the manuscript to three different publishing houses that don’t require an agent But I’ll start sending it to agents.
I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one stuck on the synopsis.
I’ll keep you guys posted. Thank you again for all the advice.
