Expecting Much

Hello everyone,
Have you ever experienced a time when you expected something to happen? This expectation may or may not have came to fruition. It could have been something small like you expected a certain grade on your report card or like my case to be more successful at something.
Expectation is a gray matter its good and bad. It’s good to expect certain things with your job or relationships. For example, you expect a raise at the end of the year, etc. Or who know it could be that rare case when you expect a punishment for something and you were shown mercy instead.
But, what about those times when you don’t get what you expected? How do you respond then?
I experienced this recently. In an older post, you might have read about how I haven’t got a clue as to what I’m doing. Well, I still kind of don’t! And I don’t think I ever will. But who does now and nowadays?  Anyway, I expected that after Beck the Speck was published, it would be somewhat successful. I didn’t dream that when people would ask me how it was doing, I would want to change the subject. This is all due to my expectations of what I thought should be. Not what actually knew. I was a little sad and slightly discouraged. Rather than wallowing in despair I decided to keep ongoing.  To look at the facts and adjust. No, Beck the Speck isn’t successful. Yes, my expectations where to high at the time.  Now I need to continue creating and working hard.
Rome wasn’t built in a day you know.
The moral of this post is simple. We don’t always get what we expect but if we keep at it and work through those disappointments, we can become stronger.
So how do we do this? How do you work through those disappointments?
Work hard, when have you ever read a story, and it ends with they got discouraged and quiet. The End!!!
It never ends that way. Doesn’t that say something! Be the hero and save yourself and someone else while you’re at it!
Hey, I get being discouraged but don’t stay there. As you read this, you might think it’s easy to say, but hard to do. Yes, it is easy to say and hard to do. But, it’s worth it. Why leave something unfinished?
Never give up, believe!
The idea for this post came from Akriti Pandya. She has a brilliant blog about all sorts of interesting things. See the wonders of doodlessworld.wordpress.com 🤓
