Hello everyone,
Let’s talk about some quirks of being a writer.
1. Never satisfied with what you put out!
I’ve noticed this is an actual thing. At first I thought it was just me but the more writers I talk to & post I read, at one point mentions not being satisfied with what they wrote. So if this is you don’t fret, keep it up and when your book is published, people will hopefully love it. ๐
2. Three in the morning inspirations!
There has been times when I’ll wake up with an idea. And other writers also have this happening. So if you’re a writer say goodby to sleep and hello to insomnia.
3. Trying to verbalize your story!
After someone hears your working on a book they ask you, “hey, what’s your book about?” all of a sudden your mind blanks and then your left trying to put basic syllables together. This happens to me all the time.
4. Mind never ever rests!
This is usually the time when you’re in a quiet room or enjoying nature when bam it hits you another idea and of course you left your journal, computer, typewriter, etc. somewhere far away from you. So you scramble trying to type it into your phone or going as far as to write it in the dirt.
5. Caffeine Addict
Is it just me or does almost every writer love caffeine! It could be tea or a strong brew of coffee. But we all need it to survive the early mornings and late nights of creative meditation.
6. Not able to write the idea in your head!
This is one of the worst!!! Writer’s block is a real condition that affects all writers at one point or other.
8. Can’t stop talking about your ideas!
Earlier on the list we talked about not being able to talk about what your writing about. But it can also go the other way. For example, I’ve told my mom and sister about my ideas so many times they tell me to shut up and write. Maybe not so bluntly but that’s the gist of what they say.
9. Day Dreaming
Okay, I got in trouble quite a few times for day dreaming. Have you ever talked to somebody or was at work even school when you’re staring off into the distance. Then somebody thinks you’re looking at them or ignoring them and they wave their hand in front of your face. Or you look mad but you’re really visualizing your story when somebody comes up to you and says what’s your deal.
That last one hasn’t happened to me I usually try not to stare in the direction people are in. But this has happened to people I know.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen of the blog-o-sphere! If you have any of these quirks your most likely a writer or about to pursue writing. With that being said have a great rest of your day or afternoon.
10. Getting an amazing Idea in the shower!
You know that moment when your washing your hair and all of the sudden the missing element in your story hits you. Wam, and your left writing your idea on the mirror in the restroom.ย
My advice always have an emergencyย whiteboard marker in one of the drawers for such occasions.
P.S.
Say you have a quirk that I didn’t mention…
Go ahead and put it in the comments and I’ll be sure to add it to the list. ๐
