Talent

Hello everybody,

Today let’s get up close and personal with talent. How many of you can say your talented or gifted in something? If your into sports or like watching America’s got talent, Britain’s got talent, etc.

What you will see every now and again is somebody with unbelievable raw talent. It’s beautiful watching them on that first audition or that first win. But as they continue in that competition because that’s what sports and talent shows are they have to be able to compete with people who might not be super talented but worked so hard for it that they are now masters.

In this arena it’s hard to get to the top. So how do you get to the top? Have you ever heard the phrase practice makes perfect. It does really make perfect, almost all the time.

Don’t hide your talent. Master it! Because only you can stop yourself from being great. Sometimes other people can but they can’t hold you down so you can never get up. It’s your choice unless they are literally holding you down.

If you’re reaching for the stars then reach for it. Don’t let the competition scare you. If the people you are up against treat, you badly it’s probably because they are intimidated by you and what you can do. Unless you did something cruel, then they are offended by you.

It can go both ways.

Talent doesn’t make success what makes success is working hard. Seriously hard!

Now here are the inspirational stories to back my claim of hard work.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan had physical gifts. But his coach said, “it was hard work that made him a legend.” When Micheal first joined the league, his jump shot wasn’t that great. To make up for this Michael Jordan spent the off-season taking hundreds of jumps every day until it was perfect. Phil Jackson would later write about Michael in a piece on the NBA.com sight, “It wasn’t his talent, but having the humility to know he had to work constantly to be the best.”

Here is a list of other people who worked hard to get to where they are at!

Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay’s workout are so intense others can’t make it halfway through them.

GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt spent 24 years putting in hundred hour weeks.

That’s commitment right there. A little too much commitment but its commitment all the same.

Apple CEO Tim Cook routinely begins emailing employees at 4:30 in the morning.

Venus and Serena Williams woke up every morning at 6 A.M. since they 7 and 8 years old hitting tennis balls.

There are so many more people I can list but short and sweet is the way to go.

All of these people share one common thing they work hard regardless of their talent.

Life is almost like one giant talent show, your job, hobby, abilities. You can become a master at it and be highly regarded among your peers if you work hard at it.

Be the overachiever then ask for that big bonus.

People don’t just scout for talent they scout for the person that is willing to take correction and work hard wherever they are at. Don’t hate your humble beginnings look at it and let it challenge you to be the best you can be.

  1. I seriously love your site.. Great colors & theme. Did you create this amazing site yourself? Please reply back as I’m attempting to create my own personal website and want to learn where you got this from or just what the theme is called. Kudos!

    1. Thanks, yes I created it. It’s not that hard on wordpress to add in the colors and theme. I’m currently using the Baskerville 2 theme. As for the images and stuff you can upload them to your media and set them as the background image instead of just color.
